i use reagent grade alcohol at my house nothing in it 100% alcohol. it has an additive so you cant drink it. ten follow up with water and a clean towle

Windex works fine, i detail my car all the time.

A good glass cleaner or a 50/50 mix of rubbing alcohol should be able to remove any coating on the glass. Check out our Detailing Guide for Glass Care if you have any other questions or let me know. Good luck!
