I have a 2003 XLT Expy. I just ordered a Rough Country 3/2 leveling kit to make room for bigger tires. I wish I had more money 20" wheels but in the mean time I plan on using my stock 17' rims. I was thinking of going 285-70-17. Could I go larger on a stock rim without feeling too much roll?

....I'll post pictures soon!

I did 295/17/70 with 3/2 on stock and they're fine. I wish i had done 305s because I know they'd be fine too... now.

Thank you blackEB, I've been meaning to message you about the 305's. XD Series(undetermined style) in a 17x9 and the 305/70/17 Nittos are on the wish list. Just a little worried about if they'd fit.

Merry Christmas forum! I'm a new Expy forum member from Indy. Looks like a lot of good info here related to my 2003 Expy XLT 4X4. It took me 4 years to replace my soccer mom tires with some AT 295/70/17 and get a 3"/2" leveling kit, but now I love the new appearance. Can't wait to get in on the unbeaten paths.

Any tire rub or trimming required with the 315's? Looks great with the black rims and yellow paint!

Thanks guys. Yes minor front rub. At front bumper cover on very bottom 1.5 inch lip that runs along bottom of tow hooks. At first I trimmed a 1/8 inch angle to clear. Then I said screw it and took a grinder and cut the whole bottom lip off the front bumper. I just ordered new rancho quicklift shocks I hope to combine with the daystar lift. If it works the way it should ill have the biggest non rize 2nd gen and have more fender room. Should see in a week.
