Don't remove your resonator and you shouldn't have any interior drone

Tell me more about these resonators. I'm curious because I put a different muffler on the stock pipe on my 08, and I do get a bit of drone at highway speeds. Where is the resonator located on a newer vehicle? And what does it look like? Does it restrict flow through the exhaust?
