I thinking of replacing the original muffler on my 2003 expedition. I would like to replace it with one that has a little sound but not real loud. The GMC SUVs have a very low rumble sound that is nice. Has anyone put on a new muffler with a little more masculine sound?

I did away with the muffler, it has a rumble but not obnoxious.

Is that the 3 chamber flow master? Does it resonate or sound smooth in the cab?

hi, so just replaced with a straight pipe?

did you change the exhaust to exit the rear rather than the side?

This was on my pick up with the 5.4, I used a turn down style elbow so it was under the bed. On the Exped I would recommend maintaining the factory routing so you dont have exhaust coming into the vehicle

I always wondered why they did that, don't like the look, but probably effective. but gm and dodge seem to do just fine with rear exit.
