Hey all, I'm getting ready to swap out the factory HU with a Kenwood DDX340BT and I want to keep the rear dvd but I'm wanting to go about it a bit differently than others have. The DVD won't eject on the factory unit so I'd like to just use the rca aux inputs. In the source menu it has aux in 1,2 and 3. The owners manual says 2 and 3 aren't utilized. I pulled the unit down and took it apart and didn't see any place to tap into the other two inputs so I'm thinking they come in from one of the two harnesses. There's two plugs, an 8 pin and a 18 that plug into the unit and come from the HU I'm guessing. The 8 pin is full but the 18 pin only has two wires. Does anyone know what the pinouts are for these? I have a workshop manual but it seems to conveniently not have much info on the unit itself. Sorry for the huge post. Pics follow, thanks guys14889037688581306438366.jpg IMG_20170307_105814.jpg IMG_20170307_105807.jpg

Welcome. That does not look like any factory rear DVD that I've ever seen.

A 2003 would look like this:

So while I applaud you using the manual, it won't apply to this aftermarket player.

What you have is 3L1Z-19G323-AA, which is the dealer installed unit. I believe it was Panasonic. Hope this helps with your pinout search

I was thinking the same thing about it being an aftermarket DVD but it has Ford factory stickers and the screen bezel says Ford Motor Company. One of the stickers have a June 2002 date. All the searches for 03 I've done bring up pics like the one you have. I wonder what's going on lol

The sticker on the unit says 3L1J-10E047-AA. Same situation I imagine, dealer installed. Any Idea of its brand? I couldn't find any branding on the PCB or any info googling the part number. Edit: Did a search on the 3L1Z-19G323-AA and it appears to be the same

The 3L1J-10E047-AA is very close to and is likely 3L1Z-10E947-AA

If its 15 years old with a stuck DVD inside, I'd look into replacing it. Hopefully with something as big or larger than the hole cut into the headliner.

Thanks so much Flexpedition for the info and part numbers. Still sol so far but I sent my local dealers service department an email asking if they'd share any info on wiring. Wonder what the odds of them sharing are?

Well, no luck hearing back from the dealer. Guess I'll either use the one aux input or just replace the whole thing.

I have a 2003 Ford expedition Eddie Bauer 5.4 with the overhead console DVD entertainment system from Ford I was wondering if there’s a specific after market replacement that everyone uses or if anyone knows where I can order the original
