I have worked on the under the door issue. I took a paint stripper wheel on a drill and ground the loose paint out and as much rust as i could get off, then cleaned it using brake cleaner, then used a rust primer by rustoleum and an underbody spray on by rustoleum and it slowed down the rust buy a lot. This summer i am gonna try sand blasting it out which i anticipate will work great. For anyone who can try this method faster 90 grit Aluminum oxide will work great for this as long as you mask everything you dont want sand on. I will most likely use the same primer and paint when its all done. I used a similiar method on my brake calipers and they have zero rust on them after a few years of salty winters.
