I just bought a 2015 Expedition King Ranch with 24k miles on it and has a payload of 1365. I got it because my family owns a travel trailer and my dad's 2012 F-150 Platinum (3.55 axle and 1205 payload) is the only vehicle that we have to tow it and it's racking up some miles. So I wanted this to help tow the trailer and save him some miles. The travel trailer is 6235 dry (about 6600 packed), and the hitch is 675 (almost 700 packed). We have the EAZ-Lift weight distributing hitch that allows 1,000# for the hitch. Over the weekend, we decided to hook the trailer up to my King Ranch and see how it pulled. I'd like to pull it on our next camping trip. But the back end sagged so badly that it scared the heck out of me. It looked like my rear tires could hit the top of the tire well and my front end was so high and light that I would fish tail in the front and bounce. Totally not safe. I've read some other threads and saw where people said to go to Etis and find out if it's got self leveling load suspension. I went and entered my info and all I could get was I have a 3.31 axle. There is a section for more info but when I click on the plus sign to expand it, it doesn't expand. So I don't know what the suspension is but I'd say it's standard factory and not the load leveling. My dad seems to think that because his truck's hitch ball is 2" higher than mine, if we just get me a new hitch with the adjustable shank to raise it up, that will work because it would start out more even. I still think it will sag because weight is weight. I did see another thread where people suggested Nivomat shocks. I have tried to google and found some info but cannot find where to buy them. And when I would go to Pepboys or Autozone, etc., and enter my car info, no one gave me the option of buying Nivomat. And, like I said, I didn't find a lot of info on google. Can I get these for a 2015? Are they only available through a Ford dealer? Is there something else I should be looking at like air bags for the rear like my dad has on his truck? Am I just completely hosed by the dealer and can't pull this trailer? I am sick to my stomach to think that I just made this big of a purchase to tow the trailer and I might not be able to. I thought I did my research to know that the vehicle would definitely pull within the trailers weight and the payload would definitely take the hitch and us both in the SUV. I don't know what to do so any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
