Swapping transfercase

Is there any reason the manual BW4406 wouldn't work in place of the TOD BW4406?

For the sake of discussion, the year and drivetrain are the same.

I've looked under my F150 and Expedition, and I can't see why mechanically it won't be a bolt on with driveshafts, etc. but would the VSS be an issue?

Any help is appreciated.

That's route I'm going I'm tiered of this electrical shift BS and also getting the 4x4 posi lock cable shift for front axle too that way everything is basically mechanical 4x4

If the VSS goes in the same spot on the manual transfer I don't see how it could be an issue.

The clutch in the trandfercase. It's prone to wear and causes quite a bit of havoc.

Doing the swap is cheaper than fixing or buying a remanufactured BW4306TOD
