Trailer lights won't work

My LoadRite snowmobile trailer lights stop working or do strange things every few years. Its ALWAYS the ground path from trailer to vehicle. (You might have some other problem) The lights are grounded to the aluminum frame and I have to make sure there is a solid connection from trailer frame to the ground pin on the vehicle connector. Voltmeter/ohmmeter is the tool to find out what the problem is. I put dielectric grease on the pins twice a year due to salt in my area.

This is a must lol
You put the probe to each pin to mak sure getting power. If no voltmeter you can use a test light but cheap ones like $10
