Both are stock mine is a 5.4 4x4 and his Chevy is probably a 5.3 idk honestly 2 wheel drive.
The only thing that I've done to the Expedition is a 3.5/2.5 lift..
It's my nephew he's a die hard Chevy fan and of course I'm a die hard Ford guy.
For the past 5 months he's constantly saying I bet my Chevy can pull that Ford of yours.
Or what's wrong u scared to hook up to this Chevy..
Well it's gotten to the point I'm about to hook up to his Chevy and see what happens..
Just to shut him up..Lol..
Now he's so confident in his truck out pulling my Expedition that he's wanting us to put up a $100 each n boot which one out pulls the other gets the pot..
Now I'm pretty confident that my Expedition could pull his truck but jus wanted to see what others that more knowledgeable than me think ?
Do I have a chance against his truck ?

You've got the traction bonus- more weight over the rear and power to the front wheels.

Should be able to do beat him.

Put it in 4low (Just before you pull, he won't know) and you'll be just fine. Hopefully your tires got meat on them

Can't use 4 wheel drive he said..
I'm going to hold off on the pull till I get my New 35's here n about 2 weeks BC I know good meat equals good traction..
Thanks

Or does that not matter

Definitely 1st. It'll guarantee that you actually start in 1st gear.

Waiting for 35s will reduce your effective gear ratio- which isn't good.

I've done this stunt before with the company's 2006 expy, we used a 4"X30ft tow strap on tarmac

06 expy vs 2011 suburban,
3 attempts,
Chevy won in 2wd mode
Expy won in 4wd mode the first time but Chevy guy complained he wasn't ready
We did a third pull in 4hi and the expy did get the lead and kept it but eventually the U joint exploded

So moral of the story, do it in day time so auto parts stores are open this for makes for a quick fix if needed.

Doesn't seem like a fair "fight" since your costs to repair will possible far exceed his...but I've never been much for competitions that match vehicles....I used to road race bikes but those were rider matches nearly as much as equip.

Either way, good luck and rep our Expy's well!
