I've not actually had to trace it on a Triton engine (Last one I did was a 92 IDI Diesel), but generally on a ford it'll ground down somewhere on the passenger side of the engine block near the bottom. I'd start looking near the starter personally.
A good battery, will read 12.2-12.8 on a volt meter. Check your CD changer. I had a stuck magazine, that was trying to eject. The changer is wired hot(no key), so it killed my battery.
