T6 is the 5w40, but its on the 'thinner' end of the 40 spectrum, closer to the 30 weight spec. I use just the T6 with a Motorcraft filter. Keep in mind that Rotella (a Shell company) has recently changed their "recipe" for the new specification that has been established. It supercedes the previous general engine oil spec. Keep in mind the new spec is reverse compatible, but the previous oil spec does not meet the newer spec. (I will edit this with references to both specs)

I do not use any sort of additional additives. Almost all of them are absolute garbage and offer no actual improvements. The only time those additives actually provide any assistance is to super cheap "dino" oils that have a poor additive blend to begin with. Almost every single one of the additional additives have proven to do little to nothing to additionally reduce wear (keep in mind the wear tests they proclaim are done on ball bearings and a 1 arm bandit not in actual engines). Used oil analysis when done with these additives have proven almost no positive results, some actually made engine oil worse. People who gained the most from additives have utilized specific additves to address specific problems.

I'm not berating you for using them, you are a free man to do what you wish. My background and my "research" has only solidified my OPINION of additives. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, even if it is wrong. Mine very well may be.
Man, I cannot wait to see your research. I currently use Mobil One 5w-30 Synthetic with Lucas and a Motorcraft Oil Filter. If your tests reveal I can just Rotella, I will be saving a TON of money. BTW - 99 5.4 with 170k on it.

I've seen LiquiMoly (and Howe's) diesel fuel additives shave like 4 seconds off a 0-60... difference between a slug and a scary fast car.

Made me a believer

Rotella T6 costs more than Mobil 1 Full Synth

$22-24 / 1 gallon vs $22-24 / 5 liters

...in either case it's less than 1 cent per mile

It appears I made a mistake. I confused the general gasoline engine spec with the new diesel spec. I apologize if it was misleading. The new Gasoline oil spec has been pushed off to be released in 2019, I had heard it was already released.

Draft copy of new Gas spec: https://passenger.lubrizoladditives...016/07/02-ILSAC_gf-6a_2-13-14_draft_rev_5.pdf

Took the Expy for the 4 wheel alignment............

6 hours later I have to bring it back tomorrow to finish. Front and rear on Pass lenger side was cambered in and toed in.

Apparently aligning the rear requires extensive work dissassembling most of the rear suspension. Got it all aligned and literally spot on to factory specs and it still pulls ever so slightly to the right. They are going to go through the entire thing again and make sure everything is correct. I am starting to think its a bad caliper in the front or bad brake hose. We'll see tomorrow.
