When did they remedy Cam Phaser and spark plug problems?

I am looking at buying a used Expedition. My 2005 had the nasty cam phaser problem and also the tough to get to and breakable spark plugs. Advice on best rated and most reliable years to buy. Did they remedy the issues in newer years?

Cam phasers all the way to the new 5.0 had issues. My buddies 2009 4.6 F150 has noisy phasers too.
My current 08 is smooth with just over 100K.

I think In09 ford got better with the plug issue.

Part number for plugs changed in 07.

I just changed the plugs on my '05. I followed the TSB to the letter. I didn't break a one. Of course, two were only in finger tight. The dealership did the last set. I hope they spend my money wisely. That's the last time I let therm near my expy. The plugs were no more difficult to access than other vehicles I've owned, just more tedious to change.
