Well my 03 EB Expedition 4x4 5.4
The vents on dash never has worked on defrost . It's been this way when I bought it.
So I decided to try n trouble shoot it pulled the climate control from the dash to replace the known orings in the solenoids that I seen on YouTube. But mine doesn't take vacuum lines it's electronic.
So I go under the hood looking for vacuum lines checking for broken/cracked line and I come across these in the pictures.
So thinking these or 1 of them could have something to do with the vents not working..

If I could get someone to find these under the their hood and tell me where they go. Possibly with pictures :)
Then I can fix mine.
Thanks

Although you have the EATC controls (electronic) the vent controls are vacuum operated. Your blend doors are electrically operated

Looks like your vacuum SUPPLY line is missing from it's connection. It's the same size as that one that's loose there in your 4th picture. See if you can get it reconnected to that fitting in your 3rd picture. That should help with your lack of vent control.

Picture 1 & 2 are not vacuum connections, that's just the hinge and pin for the hot water valve. Leave them alone.

The line covered by plastic shroud is the vacuum line TO the hot water valve. The bare vacuum tube is the SUPPLY line TO the EATC vacuum manifold under the dash.
