I sold the Expedition and bought a more appropriate tow vehicle. If anyone is interested in the light bar I used on the Expy, I'd probably sell it. I'm not sure I can mount it on the new truck.

I am interested in the complete setup for our 2012 Expy. Please PM me a price. Thanks!

2013 GMC Sierra 2500 Duramax. This wasn't an anti-Ford move by any means, towing our 8000 gvwr travel trailer with the Expedition gave me the heebie jeebies. The new truck is awesome.

TRAITOR!! JK the new Chevy's are nice but I am still biased toward my F-150 being the best truck on the market...although i'm sure the diesel was the selling factor not the manufacturer in your case lol

Can you post what light bar you bought and where you mounted it and how you wired it? I know... I'm needy.

I had a buddy get pulled over for his 12 inch LED light bar. First the officer said it had to be covered. My friend should have let that go and took him to court. It only has to be covered (like KC lites) if it's above the head lights. His is on his push bar. So he told the cop that.
He then changed it to say that he had too many lights. In PA you can have no more than 4 forward facing projectors, head lights plus two more. The cop said that the LED bar had 6 lights, therefore he had 8 forward facing lights. Gave him a fix-it ticket to remove the offending equipment.

This is a case where the law hasn't kept up with technology. Multiple LEDs in a single housing should be one light. Very rarely is a single LED used in a lighting application outside of pocket flashlights. LEDs are meant to be used in clusters.

In court you might be able to argue that the LEDs, should they burn out like a light bulb, have to be replaced as a unit, and not individually. But that also depends on the design of the light.

He just turned his light down to avoid the hassle.

IMG_0074.JPG IMG_0075.JPG IMG_0076.JPG IMG_0079.JPG I installed a cheap Amazon light bar in the Expy. I mounted it high up in the grill, inside the highest grille slot. Bought their cheap wiring harness as well. Overall cost was around $75.

I had to do a little modification to the top of the grille to mount the bar and drill new holes in the brackets to fit. Works pretty darn well!

I mounted it high because of my experience with the wife's Explorer. On her 08 Explorer I mounted a 30" in the bottom grille between the fog lights. Its very bright but leaves alot of shadow on the road itself if the road isn't perfectly flat. I opted to mount higher to help reduce this "shadow effect".
