don't refrain Brian, I'll refrain from
Commenting on it. I don't want anyone to bite their tounge and not post cool stuff for me being rude (I have a bad habit of not biting mine when I should like here). It's a cool thing I was just skeptical is all.

Well Jeff something's fishy. All the articles I read say something along the lines that ford can't keep up and is selling all top model platinums and black label navigators far more than lower trims. Sounds like someone is trying to generate discussion like you said. If they are such hot sellers why do I never see them out driving anywhere? They are nice trucks but lets be honest with ourselves here.

Livery industry

Those guys got a major beef with GM after the joys of swapping trannies every 80-120k miles, I know some guys who are on their 4th and 5th transmissions in their Burbans...

No one is faulting the posting of it....heck, I post links and they aren't always yet fact such as the Raptor-Expy I posted a while back.....but there's nothing wrong with looking at things with a critical eye either.....taking things at face value because someone said it....well, no one would have looked for a blue dress if that were the case, right?

It's all good....I'm just saying how it looks to me....my opinion...because my word isn't fact either!

& BB's solid cause I've got an Aunt in Farmington Hills!

I've been noticing quite a few '18 Navigators in NYC which typically is Surburban/Escalade territory .

Navigators and Expeditions aren’t high volume production. Even a small bump could outpace production.

I bought my first house for a little more than $100k. 5 years later.... I sold it for about the same. That housing market sucked. But in 5 years, that $100k Expedition will be worth $25k (or less).

Good article Brian, and YES, it's true, believe it or not. Here are other sources siting essentially the same thing. Great job Ford!!!!! Ford knocked it out of the park!

But agree that we also shouldn't misunderstand this news either, it does not mean that you're going to see an $80k Platinum Expy or $100k Navi on every corner either. This is a lower volume vehicle that has a lot of catching up to do (with GM) in sales. However all indicators are pointing to a success. That's the point of these articles.

I know I said I wouldn't comment but let me add another bit that these sources are not disclosing. I must add that demand is still nowhere near 2003-2008. That's why you have to take everything you read with a grain of salt. For example in 2003 ford sold 181,000 Expeditions, in 2017 they sold 51,000 Expeditions. The sales gains for 2018 if true at 41% gain that brings it up to 73,000 units. Not even half of what was sold in 2003. In 2007 (mine) ford sold over 90,000 units (almost 20,000 more than expected demand for 2018). That's why we need the big picture all I'm saying guys. Facts like Jeff said can be skewed any way and these articles are not showing the whole picture. Production of this truck has been throttled waaayyy back for years and now there is some demand so of course they need to add capacity. The articles listed are all correct in ways and are good reads, but don't let them fool you that demand is higher than ever (it's not even half of what it was in its prime).

That being said yes ford has greatly improved sales obviously and is on a good track with this vehicle. It's a well designed truck and a redesign was well due, kudos on the increase. Good reads.

Right, which is why they are playing catch up to GM. Clearly (and sadly) the Expy/Navi of late was not what the market wanted (regardless of the love for them that we see on this forum).
