The black plastic piece on the top of my rear bumper, under the hatch is faded and really looks bad. Can I remove it somehow? Or will I have to tape around it and refinish it on the vehicle?

Mines a 2008. I searched and couldn’t find much besides “use a heat gun” which I’ve done before but is really tedious and time consuming.

Rub it down with trim refresher or tire shine (same shit, different bottles)

Tire shine makes the faded plastic really shine in its not-very-Black anymore glory.

I pulled it up, and repainted it black with Krylon Fusion. Looks perfect and brand new.
