The "color matched" grilles of the Limiteds were painted black with gloss enamel. The SSV grilles were molded black plastic though of fairly good quality.

Ford police packages have had black grilles for the past 70 years. Sort of a trademark of theirs.

Yes, any 07-14 will fit. I'm in Abington and may hit Everates this weekend for a TED to fix my heated seat. If I find a color match black grill I'll scoop it.
Thanks, but you don't have to do that. I dont get up there too often anymore and I'm not sure when the next time I'll be in the area. If you happen to see one, please let me know.

I'm on vacation next week and will be on cape so I could always get it to you. Obviously the price needs to be right and I would check with you before grabbing it

In that case, let me know if you find anything.
Thanks!

I couldn't stand my chrome grille on my black '14 Limited either. I had a black '09 Limited before this with the black grille. I searched online for the cheapest paint to match I could find and had my buddy's shop paint it to match. That was the easy part. The hard part is installing it. The easiest way, believe it or not, involves removing the while front bumper assembly.

You're kidding me. Seriously?
I haven't looked to see how involved it is to replace. I figured it would be tit. Oh well. I gotta do it at some point. I can't stand that fake chrome.

I'm assuming that the later ones are the same as the 08's, and mine came out and went in with no problem. If I recall, there's a reinforcement that requires the large 1/4" pop rivets (or nuts and bolts) and a line of prongs that pop in on the bottom. The prongs are a bit tricky but they do come out fairly quickly under compulsion with a bit of prying.

It can be done without removing the bumper, but removing the bottom part of the grille from the bumper is much easier and less prone to damage with the bumper off. I followed the factory service manual instructions.
