Speaking of towing, I’m getting ready to tow my 28’ Jayco for the first road trip with my 2019 Expedition XLT. I have a good weight distribution hitch, but bringing it home from the Dealer, it seemed like my front end was “light” ( which is the only time I have towed it). Is this normal? Also another question; does anyone tow and use your Cruise Control?

You have several options. Visit a truck scale, use a tongue scale, or measure the spring drop to apportion weight between your axles.

The trailer dealer set it up wrong like they usually do. Adjust it yourself. It's easy and then it gets done right too.

Anyone tow a toy hauler? We are looking at Puma XLE lite 25tfc. 6137 dry. 745 hitch. 29' 7". We have no "toys", so just what we will take camping with us. There are just 2 of us and cats. Any suggestions?

What Expy do you currently have? You will most likely need one with the Max Tow Package and a good Weight Distribution Hitch (WDH). The 4th Gen models can tow up to 9300 pounds (7440 pounds at 80%) depending on trim level.

We tried to tow a toy hauler with ours, but it was way over the hitch rating, ours is a 29' (35' total) and the hitch was at 1,232. I ended up buying a super duty for pulling it!

I towed a 33' TT with a GVWR of 7600, tongue weight of around 800, and dry was 5800. I never had an issue towing with my 03 5.4. I wasn't winning an speed races, as I only towed around 62MPH on the interstate, but it towed good... make sure you get a good WDH with away control built in(Blue Ox, Equalizer E4, or Hensley Arrow) and a good brake controller. I recommend a Tekonsha Prodigy and many others will say the same, and get the plug in harness so its easy to install.

I will say my towing MPG SUCKED!! I got around 7.5 to 8 MPG. My "new" Excursion 6.0 pulls our new 38' trailer with a GVWR of 9500 like it's not even there and am getting around 11.5 MPG towing at 65MPH.
