Hey all.

I’ve got a leak problem that I need help trying to locate where it’s coming from.

my front drivers side has wet carpet after every rain. I used to have a leak that would drip from the hand hold, but I stopped that. I thought it had started again so I went out and checked while it was raining. That leak has STOPPED.

Now the drip comes from under the dash, right about the emergency brake foot pad. In fact, the water drips off of the bottom edge of that emergency brake foot pad.

Do you all have any ideas where that would come from and how it would start up now after all these years?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks all and keep yourself safe!

Check the rubber (accordion style) rubber conduit between the door and the A pillar (by the door hinges).

Ensure it is not torn, or dislodged where it is fitted into the A pillar. It is a press-fit, and can be kinked or dislodged.

Water can enter the A pillar at the conduit contact point, and leak onto the floor - from behind the kick panel by the parking brake foot pad assembly.

What gen is your Expedition? If it is a first gen, the windshield is notorious known for the upper windshield gasket to develop leaks. Fix it soon or things will start to act up as there is electronics below the dash that get wet, is not a good thing.

Had the same leak, check the windshield seal in the top corner, I could push on the windshield from inside and see that the corner was not sealed. Had a chip in glass in line of sight when driving and got glass replaced now it no longer leaks. It was hard to find because it leaks in and runs down the support column before it drips to floor. It will mess up the electronics if not fixed.

I can give you a few places to check. The sunroof drain may be clogged and overflowing, Drivers door seal, cowl seal panel, under the wipers and the windsheild.

Thank you all very much for your help. I’m gonna go right out and check the areas that you all suggested.

I don’t know what series my 2003 Expedition is. It has the 5.4 with 4wd and us the EDDIE BAUER edition, if that helps.
