The grill removal is the most painful part of the conversion. I did this on our prior Max Limited with lights source from eBay and a wire harness with a list of forscan codes from an online retailer. All in, I think it took 2 days and just about $500.
These are the instructions I used to remove...
If indeed a "transmission issue" would fall under powertrain which would run 5yrs/60k miles.
We had a similar issue after getting ours serviced for hard shifts. They reset it and topped off/overfilled the trans fluid. It later began to overheat and smoke on the highway several hundred miles...
Not sure which one you're talking about, this one maybe?
14.4" Android on AliExpress
Seems to be a knock off version of this one, or at least designed very similar to this one I found and was wanting to install on our expedition and superduty:

Not that I use "all" the features on our Platinum either. Can't remember when I last used parallel park since I bought it but doesn't matter. It's the fundamental of it. Same as the lock/unlock door handles, electric middle seat release, massaging seats, different interior color light options...
This. That plastic junction is no way the weakest point in the system to fail like that. A connection will likely fail or uncouple before that part would burst in that manner. VERY SUSPECT. Most warranties don't cover coolant hoses because right hoses dry out and leak over time but I'd argue...
Removing the original halogen headlamps and installing the new LED headlamps is the majority of the job. You have to remove the grill and front bumper cover. It's not hard, just tedious. Otherwise, that's the whole conversion. All that's left is basically a wire harness that you plug into the...
Yeah agreed. Honestly, I was very upset at their dismissal. Even when they held the car overnight to try a cold start the next morning, they told us it was normal too. This is why I went to another dealer and complained about the other's incompetence. I told them our other previous expedition...
The waste-gate gets loose and begins to rattle, typically worse as it warms up and with engine load/acceleration. Sounds like a rapid light tin rattle.
We had the phaser repair done on our 2018 max limited and it ran perfectly afterwards. So when the max platinum we traded it for developed a similar but slightly different sound I was familiar with the process. It had the startup rattle but also more noticeable on throttling or acceleration They...
My wife's 18 max platinum, 4x4, hd tow gets 17mpg. Some long stops here and there but mostly free flowing roads here in coastal GA.
I tease her all the time since I get 19.5 in my 2020 powerstroke
I looked around for a while to upgrade our original Max Limited halogens - couldn't find a decent LED housing setup.
I wanted more than just swapping in LED bulbs, so I ended up converting them to the factory LEDs. With patience and diligence, I found a new condition set for about $850. If you...
Interesting. I think we've been experiencing the same thing in ours but it's a 4x4. Funny the tsb states only 2wd models. We've taken it to the shop twice:
1) they said it was normal and days there was too much trans fluid and bleed some out.
2) second time around they said they couldn't...
I tried doing the same while having our expedition shipped from WA state to GA. It showed that it was in some midway point for a while then stopped updating. No notifications or otherwise. Wasnt until they called us to tell us they were an hour away did we know where it was.
Agree with Mlarv...
Yikes. Just cracked 30k miles on our 2018 and no signs yet but thanks for the heads up!
Just curious, do you use any degreaser or a rotary tool to apply wax?
