left turn signal not working - everything else works
Gen 1 have a known issue (vids out there) from the tilt steering, the back & forth kinking ending up in a break in the wiring. When i took off the column cover just to have a look, it was evident which wire was the issue.- 98eb5.4

GEM Module?!
There are good vids out there for diagnosing (think mighta been f150) power window issues that can be other than gem related. There are 5 relays in the dash, pax side accessible from the top right cover, one fix i saw was bridging a power wire to the relays.- 98eb5.4

Bumper
I did the swap years ago but forget the details other than it was an easy bolt up deal. New brackets (not oem) were cheap & easy to get along with an unchromed steel bumper. The 97-8 bumper (prob 3+ times bigger) setup iis way more robust.- 98eb5.4

a big plus for 98 (5.4) is the last year for alum intake manifold, check your rear trailing arms for rot cheers- 98eb5.4

Rear wheel stud replacement 98 Expedition
Not sure about expy but usually/often there is a workaround or shortcut & figuring it out. 2003 Expedition Face Lift Begins
97 & 8 also had alum intake manifolds vs 99 on plastic that were problematic, i'm at ~ 530k original kilometers on my 5.4/98 driveline & doesn't even leak fluids.- 98eb5.4

02 EB Transmission Cooler?
If not leaking, i'd just leave it. The other one is for power steering. A few bolts for the tranny cooler, prob lines are original & replace is then the way to go also. U could also cut & join the lines to bypass the cooler with a temp fix.- 98eb5.4

1st Gen Exp xlt 5.4l 157,200 miles
from 1st post This was a solid lead, #8 is the worse for access. I've used 15 - 20 buck code readers to get codes which is a must otherwise mostly end up guessing & wasting time/money. Doubt the engine quit due to 3 quarts low on oil or an empty coolant reservoir, tho ..how much was that...- 98eb5.4

rear brake light and turn inop.... its not the bulb :-) help
