Comparing the new tires that are going on. They both (navigator an expo) have the cheep 3” lift kit from Amazon. Once the alignment is dialed in it’s a great ride :)

I’m glad people found this helpful, it’s made me ok with buying more modular 4.6 and 5.4 engines , after selling the grey expy I bought an 08 navigator and lifted it , then sold it later down the road and recently got a 04 Eddie B edition expy :) they’re great rigs until they aren’t haha

Another update, sold the expy with no issues on the insert, it had approx 245,000 on it and I was sure to check the torque before I sold it. Back yard fix wins !!!

Update: I have 235,000 miles on it and just towed a small trailer with utv. Both probly weighed ~2,000 pounds combined, The expy tugged it no problems. I've also driven to the coast with big hill climbs and passing people. No problems yet!

Day 2 of driving it, and no problems in sight! It's nice to have our family ride back. I've put it through its paces entering freeways and haulin as much ass as an expy can. I held it at 5,000rpm ish for a good 5secs before it shifted. It's like it was before the sparkplug popped out. Btw I...

I have used that method before with success. I just decided to use the vacuum and 3/4" tube to make sure the grease would'nt drop in the combustion chamber. I have a borescope but I'm tech retarded so couldn't figure it out. So I went on blind faith and aggressive sucking with the vacuum.

I used the sparkplug against to insert to put it in and torque it, hence the anti seize on the sparkplug threads. The locktight on the outside threads of the insert will hopefully hold it on the next plug change. I was going to use an illaborite long bolt with a lock nutt, but I opted for the...

There's the tap broke off down in the head, I used a 1/2 opened end wrench and a adjustable crescent to grab the square top you see there and turn it 1/4 turn at a time. ‍♂️S&@T sucked. You can see the lighter part of the taps threads went just far enough. Right before she went to her home...

You can see here the old threads getting cut off. Already threaded with my 7/8"-14 NF thread on the outside and getting the inside threaded. Comparing the old 3/4" insert to my homemade 7/8" insert on the right.

Both the tap and drill with extensions tacked on, I suggest you weld it all the way around and triple quardruple check to make sure it's straight it will make it easier for you. You can see how deep the drill bit went by the lighter color on the tip. Mr. Drilly showing off his new length to...

I like your idea, my problem is we're in contract for a new home that's being built. So we're not supposed to finance anything right now. And until the homes done and escrow closed, we have to make it work. I do have an idea to make the bigger spark plug insert, but I can't find any info on...
