End My Oil Crisis
Seafoam the engine. My '06 was bring a litre every 1500km or so (1000 miles). I also added Restore engine treatment to the oil. It's now time for the next oil change and it has not burned a drop. Oil control rings get plugged up, sometimes they need a little help to get the juices flowing again...- bnicov

'04 Expy 5.4 - p0306 not resolved by changing plug. Truck shaking.
Was the oil on the electrode end or the the insulator end?? If the oil is inside the engine, you are looking at bad piston rings or valve seals. If the oil is only on the body of the plug, then you are looking at valve cover gaskets which is doable.- bnicov

All depends on what you want. A decent vehicle to drive, drop in a used engine. A rebuild will cost more than what it is worth. If you want to restore/rebuild it, then get ready for huge costs. How To Access Lower Blend Door Actuator
Been busy with work and have not been around. My 06 Ltd has a no heat issue in the front. Rear heat works fine. I replaced the upper blend door actuator but it did not help. Broken Rear Shock
Driving home from work today, I hit a bump, nothing huge mind you and all of a sudden the truck's rear end felt really really loose. 06 Ltd btw with regular suspension. Broken Rear Shock
Has anyone broke their rear shock?? That is what happened to my 06 Ltd this evening after hitting a bump, nothing big either. It sheared off the lower mount to the axle. Great timing, it is a long weekend here in Canada and I have to drive down to Myrtle Beach on Wednesday. Figures. Dumb luck.- bnicov

Buying 2nd gen Expy ...4r75e durable?
Have the tranny serviced before you do anything. Use the Tow Mode (O/D off) and do not drive like an idiot while towing. Fuel economy will suck (part ansd parcel with towing). Stick to the speed limit and you should be fine.- bnicov

7 broken plugs
You may have plugged the right side cat. Does it have any power or is it sluggish. A plugged cat wreaks havoc with an engine causing all sorts of weird things to go on.- bnicov

new motor or sell -6cyl misfire -thoughts?
Before getting rid of it, have the o2 sensors been replaced?? Can you find a used cylinder head in a scrapyard relatively nearby? Snakeoil may help disguise the problem but will not fix it.- bnicov

Help me confirm Head Gasket :/
Small leak somewhere when it is cold, when it heats up, everything expands and it seals up. Fill it with coolant and hopefully it makes it till you leave. Otherwise you are going to spend quite a bit to diagnose it and then fix it. Don't bother with the snake oil. That stuff will kill the...- bnicov

150K miles... Time for a tune?
Get the cat issue figured out. Cats don't die of old age, they get murdered. Something is causing the cat to die. Too lean, too rich, burning oil or coolant, etc.... could be something simple or more complex. If the motor is in good shape go for it but remember it has a fair bit of miles on it...- bnicov

I pulled off the FPDM, it was rotted. The back by the plug was crumbling. Ordered in a new one plugged it in and she fired right up. I pulled the old one apart to see where it failed. The board was in good shape except by one of the contacts which was badly corroded. I filled up the plug with...- bnicov

'06 starts, idles rough and dies
First real problem with my expedition. Its an '06 Ltd. It will start, run rough then sputter and die. If I give it throttle, it dies. I am thinking fuel pump but if anyone has any other ideas....- bnicov
