Gary,
When mine failed, the Sirius radio indicated faulty antenna. Initially the channels would fade in and out and then finally quit completely. Also the GPS was off by about 100 miles! Again they replaced the ACM and all was well however I did have to contact Sirius and they had to reset...
Gary,
The other unit you are referring to is an ACM (audio control module). And that is probably the culprit. The local Ford dealership was going to replace the roof satellite antenna if it was bad but as it turned out it was the ACM which had failed. So the satellite antenna must be available.
If you are possibly looking at replacing the GPS antenna I would try that first as I have heard they are prone to failure. I have a 2011 Expedition Limited and the GPS/Sirius radio started acting up. I wound up having to replace the ACM along with the antenna. The dealership told me it would...
Lost Sirius antenna connection first followed by GPS antenna failure then cell phone connection. Took it to local Ford dealership today and I'm being told the ACM is bad and possibly antenna as well. Cost of repair is $1737.27, however service writer recommends I go to Car Toys where they can...
I love this forum and the wealth of information and opinions offered up to peruse. I'm not all that media or tech savvy either. It's amusing when the use of CAPS are criticized. Seems to me it just makes it easier to read and my hearing is unaffected. That being said when someone asks for...
I'm with zfifty on this, for safety I far prefer a good quality hydraulic floor jack and heavy duty cast iron jack stands. I've always had issues with ramps "scooting" out when trying to drive up on them. I get it that the suspension needs to be loaded for some suspension work so ramps and...
Well I think anything is possible given enough time, effort and money! The 6.0 Liter oil burner was one heck of an engine if as previously stated its properly bullet proofed. The primary issue with them and most diesels is they are so horribly strangled by government mandated emission...
NO!!! Don't let him buy them. I want to buy them and I'm only 71 and far more deserving! That being said, I also own a F350 KR and wish I could further dechrome it with a Platinum grill.
I would echo the comments about the Michelin LTX. I run them on both of my Expeditions as well as my KR F350 and am very satisfied with them. I also bought them through Costco.
I've searched as much as I can but can't find an answer as to whether or not a headlight assembly from a 2003 Expedition will interchange with a 1997 Expedition. I've refinished my 97 lenses twice now but it doesn't last very long. Recently I ran across a nice 2003 Expedition in a local...
Having grown up in Moab, Utah and lived 26 years in Interior Alaska I have always owned a 4wd, but that is still not an end all to be all. I once test drove a Jeep Rubicon with factory lockers. On glare ice, 2wd it wouldn't move an inch. Not to be dissuaded i shifted into 4wd and it moved...
Why are you driving into snowbanks? I thought the idea of using 4wd was to keep you out of them. Are you sure all 4 tires are spinning, if so you must have also front and rear. Given the age of the rig i would check out the vacuum lines to the actuators to see if they may be leaking.
