2022 Expedition - Cracked Roof Panel; Cracked Lift gate Spoiler

I’ve noticed a few of these spoilers look like they have actually become dislodged as a result of this. Do you think the case could be made for a safety recall considering the rear brake light is integrated into the spoiler assembly?

2022. Previously had this issue last winter as documented in this thread. Was repaired and everything seemed fine until the cold temps came back around.

2022 Expedition - Cracked Roof Panel; Cracked Lift gate Spoiler

Thought I would post back with an update, last winter we had the hatch fixed and I thought we were good… today my wife opened the hatch and heard another pop while opening the rear hatch and this time we have two punctures in our roof! Will be following up with the dealership in the morning, but...

Is anyone having good experiences with 22+?

No, I am not having a positive experience. Spent my weekend dealing with a dead vehicle and ford roadside being unable to assist with a tow after stringing me along for 12 hours. Code is showing a high pressure fuel pump issue and the vehicle is unable to start. 5900 miles. Dealership said it...

Can confirm. Ford contacted me yesterday letting me know they have reversed the initial decision to deny the claim and will be covering the damage 100% under warranty. My vehicle is at the dealership in the body shop now and they confirmed the same.

Can you post photos of the condition from each angle in a way that shows the differences in the size of the gap? How is the weatherstripping?

Is yours loose on the driver side and tight on the passenger side? Date stamp on my VIN sticker is 9/22

Check your flap. Our vehicle has one but was still damaged. On the driver side (left) of the hatch the flap is not properly mated to the spoiler and is actually wedged under the spoiler. I can grab it with my hand and move it freely with no problem. The flap on the passenger (right) side of the...

Did a ford engineer actually look at it or did they rely on commentary and photos from the dealership?

Excellent news! My case with Ford was kicked back to the dealership. Hopefully that leads to the same outcome. Did they say what they thought the root cause was?

Just road salt. It was 50* here today. Weather conditions leading to the damage were rain followed by plunging temps followed by strong wind and a few inches of blowing snow. It was definitely a storm, but really no different than any other winter weather event in the Great Lakes region.

I took some additional photos tonight in dim light. It really highlighted the damage and shows consistency with the other photos here, down to the ripple left of the puncture. The rear spoiler has become dislodged somewhere and is binding on the body in the exact location of the damage. No...

2022 Expedition - Cracked Roof Panel; Cracked Lift gate Spoiler

Update: I went to the dealership today and met with the folks in the body shop. They said they had seem similar damage before, but never on a newer expedition. They thought Ford would deny warranty coverage, but I asked them to submit the claim anyway. They did, and sure enough, Ford denied it...

2022 Expedition - Cracked Roof Panel; Cracked Lift gate Spoiler

To say this is a disappointment is an understatement. I can’t believe snow and ice would cause this type of damage. Sticking doors, etc., sure; but cracking plastic and punctures to sheet metal? No way. My expectation is all windows and doors operate properly in all weather conditions. I’ll...
