40,000 less miles would be attractive to me, but I keep my vehicles longer than most so I also think about repairs on all the electronic junk down the road....
What load range tires do you have? I found the P tires on mine didn't cut it with a trailer. Lode range E for mine they work so much better. The added benefit is tires that last , mine have 65k on them and they will go at least one more year.
I've done this and I think its overpriced, the only difference between buying two coil spring strut assembly's and the kit is the wiring hook up. I would try to buy there wiring kit separately the and price it out separately. It could be I paid too much five years ago.
I've got a friend who has a machine shop/engine shop that has done three with lower end failures sence the first of the year. All with in 75 to 150 k for miles and as I think of it it it was in February and March so the winter weather could have had something to do with it.
Welcome to the world of towing, my 08s job is towing a 30' travel trailer @ 7500 lbs 8 mpg is a good day but I've gotten 20 pulling the open car trailer with a car on @ 6000 lbs.
One thing I've noticed is that my 08 likes going 55 because I've gotten 24 mpg empty with it and that's were it does...
I've got the task of rebuilding the rocker panels and the reinforcements for the running boards.
I've done bodywork my entire adult life and I'm not looking forward to this project.
I've had my Expedition since 2012, I bought it with 35k on it now it has 120k. At this point it's my daily driver and pulls a trailer now and then. I'm retired and work on my Ford and Mopar hot rods to satisfy my automotive interests. Looking forward to helping and learning.
