Code like axle code on the door tag? Just look at your axle to determine if you have an 8.8 or 9.75. Then find the same size axle with the gears and locker you want. There should be a tag in the diff cover that tells you the ratio.

It is not the e10. I can't say what your issue is, but my 2013 with 120k is easily attaining the mpg you are shooting for. E10-E15 here with a tank of e85 every one in a while. All stock with the same tires.
A load range E CAN improve towing, but more often than not poor towing with an adequately equipped vehicle is due to it being set up wrong, not enough pin weight, etc.
