I have '18 XLT. Worked for a few months. Then lift gate started opening by itself. Caught me on the forehead. Dealer tried everything without success. Disabled kick to lift.
I wonder if there are different versiins of HankooksI loved the OEMs on my ‘18 XLT so much I bought new ones after 45,000 miles. No rain or light snow problems.
I have owned multiple Expeditions over the years. No problems. Just had right front wheel bearing on 2018 XLT fail at 52,000 miles. Dealer has never seen this. Anyone have this experience?
I have had several Expys all bought new with Triton V8. Now have a 2018 XLT with V6. No comparison V6 is hands down better. More power, better gas mileage etc
My previous Expedition Trton V8 had clicking due to phasers. Dealer suggested using Ford synthetic oil. Clicking disappeared and did not recur for the additional five years i owned the vehicle. Now have a 2018 with 42,000 miles. No phaser issues so far.
I have had the same Ford service manager for 20+ years. He has consistently recommended top tier gas for our Expys. We keep them well past 120,000 miles and have had no problems.
I had this on our 2018 XLT Expy. Took it to dealer multiple times before they fixed. They said it was “a faulty relay”. The kick to open stopped working after the fix. I also have the popping outside mirror problem.
I use Eco all the time. I assume that changes the shift algorithm to stay in a higher gear as long as possible. No jack rabbit starts. I find it downshifts aggressively when passing on 2 lane roads.
Is yours a Triton V8? I heard clicking on mine. Service said likely cam phaser. I had been using Pennzoil at Jiffylube. Service said change to Motorcraft synthetic. Clicking stopped and did not return for next 25k until I traded it.
Mine did both up and down by itself. Realized it was Not related to kick feature. Ford finally acknowledged their is a problem with a relay on some Expeditions. Dealer replaced the relay and the problem disappeared. Talk to your dealer.
