My 2003 has done that; just once on the Sonoran Pass in CA. I thought I wasn't going to make it over some of those "humps"....couldn't get a run at the next rise because of the hair pin turns at the beginning of the rise.
It hasn't done it since.
I have had other problems; had to have...
French101, Believe me I do wash often. I can't go around the block -- only 3 stops-- and the front rims are dirty.
One day of mountain driving towing the trailer and they might as well be black painted. :) After set-up at the RV park, I usually spend 20 minutes on rims. Even the trailer...
Third9768, thank you for the warning! This sounds like it is going to cost too much......I have only 17,000 miles on my Expedition so it will be a while until I need brakes, I guess.
Being retired I have not that much to do :), I might as well be shinning rims.

Thank you for replying...OK will ask the dealer....have a Prodigy brake controller on my trailer. I can set it to stop the tv, if I wish. I am just tired of the dust. :)

Another 2003 Expedition owner suggested that I replace my original equipment brake pads with ceramic ones.
Are ceramic pads a choice from the Ford dealer? or do only brake shops do ceramic pads? I have never been to Brake Max or that type of shop......do I dare trust them? :)
Is it OK...
Thank you for the replies, guys! Yeah, sorta think so too; the driver of the shuttle from the dealer said he had had a Ford Focus and it was the same.
I always shut the engine off the gas station when filling up; someone told me if you don't, the gauge won't change. Mine would not change...
My 2003 Expedition has been at the Ford dealer for a week getting a new "gauge cluster" ..... the gas guage was slow and unreliable since Ford replaced the battery at 13,000 miles; the vehicle now has 16,000 on it.
Have any of you had this problem? Is this a Ford "weakness"?
Apparently...
Thank you for helping me out with this. :) I called the dealer and he (sales mgr.) says that if it has an auxillary fins/coils then it for sure has it--the tow pkg.--and it has the pre-wired stuff because all I had to do was plug in my brake controller.
Actually there are two extra fin...
What does this mean--do I have the whole package? The hitch is "built-in" like they all are, I think. What I want to know is do I have the larger trans cooler? Anything else "enhanced" ?
Under "Optional Equipment" it reads I have the 3.73 axle.
Our Expedition's airbag light went on last summer (and stayed on until re-start of the engine) every time we passed Cheney's house north of Jackson, WY.
Cowboy Motors in Jackson said that several Expeditions had experienced the "phenomenon" in the same area and it was apparently the protecive...
I am going to change brake controllers--from Voyager to Prodigy and was looking under the dash on my 2003 Expy. There are two connections-one is a gray cube (right now it is being used for the Voyager) and then there is a black rectangular plug (not used, seems to be attached to the bottom of...
My trailer weighs about 7,350 lbs. loaded. I only carry 1/3 tank fresh water and the holding tanks are empty; this is the way I was loaded when I weighed.
Thank you for the reply, by the way. :)

The Ford dealer placed mine at a really acute angle above the emergency brake and hood release levers. I really don't like it there.
I need a relatively level location; right now I have a Tekonsha Voyager--it is okay, but I'd like to get a Prodigy and mount it more in line with the...
