These also help with water condensation in the intercooler. Which have cause the engine to get a big gulp of water when change in temperature causes water to condense on the inside of the intercooler.
The only difference in the limited tune and platinum tune is at Peak power and peak torque engine speeds. If you were to compare both graphs they are the same everywhere else.
The Phase used in the 2020 model year engines are from a different manufacturer they do not have an issue. Plus the engine calibration has been changed to also improve the lock condition.
I have a 2018 Model Year Expedition without any Phaser issues. I disconnected the VDOP oil pressure sensor...
First thing I did when I purchased my 2018 was unplug the VDOP sensor switch next to the crankshaft damper on the front cover. This give higher oil pressure when engine is running during all conditions. I presently have 25,000 miles with no problem.
Please remember when comparing MPG with different fuels you should drive the same route and pay attention to air inlet temperature "MCT".
Higher air inlet temperature will decrease spark and therefore hurt performance / mileage.
