I tried to build one on the website, an it looks like I can’t get the 9000 pound towing capacity on a RWD model. No HD tow or LSD either. Am I missing it somewhere? I may have to look at the Armada as a replacement for my 2019 Limited to get one equipped like I want it. I really don’t...
I sucked out just over 3 quarts to get it down close to the full line. They did change the filter (I use a different filter), but I’m doubtful that they did a full drain. Color was questionable, but I had changed it not long before the work was done. I’ll probably change it again when I...
I had my cam phasers done by my local dealer in July, and have only driven the car once since. I was getting ready to head out for a 300 mile trip towing my trailer and checked the oil as a matter of routine. It was overfilled by about over an inch! Makes me think they didn't drain it and...
I just told my local dealer the cam phasers needed to be replaced due to startup rattle. They worked through the details with the warranty company. My share ended up being about $950 out of the $4000 repair. It took less than 3 days to do the work, plus a week to get it authorized, and...
In five years of ownership I’ve been able to get mine to work when I needed it exactly once. I can’t count the number of times it has closed on my head, though…. You aren’t missing much.
Looks like my Triton policy is going to cover 3/4 of the $4K bill for the cam phasers. Supposedly there was a $200 deductible, but there's evidently a bunch of fine print about labor rates, parts prices, etc. I paid $900 for the policy, so I guess it was worth it.
I purchased a Triton ESP when I bought my 2019. I'll find out what is worth soon, since I put the car in the shop for cam phasers this morning. I missed the cutoff date for the Ford service campaign......
I'm not seeing any reason not to go back with the stock Motorcraft pads. I have 35K on mine, mostly towing, and they are still about 80% thickness and my rotors look like new. The initial bite and stopping power are good, low dust, and they are extremely rotor friendly. At under $60 per axle...
There are times when I would appreciate the Max. While it has a slightly lower tow rating, I'd like to think the longer wheelbase would provide better ride and handling stability when towing. The extra range would really be appreciated when towing as well. Now that I'm driving mine as a daily...
I got the DOT 4 LV from O’Reilly next day, cheaper than Amazon. After a bit of my own research, it does appear that the 5.1 options would have been fine. It has slightly higher viscosity, but I suspect in my warm climate location it would not have been an issue.
FYI, if you haven’t...
I was planning to flush my brake fluid today. I looked up the fluid spec in the owners manual : DOT 4 Low Viscosity. None of the parts stores in my area stock the LV fluid, so I had to order it. With as many of these trucks as there are on the road, I can't believe nobody carries it. I...
