Good input, thank you. I have long discovered that RFI chokes are also useful in a modern installation. My previous vehicle would activate a ditch light during keydown until I choked the heck out of it.- maclean

It is an ICOM 5100 that does amateur and GMRS. I plan to put the antenna on a roof rack or on a fender mount. The radio may go under the seat with the head on a bulletpoint mount. A VHF commercial may need to go in depending on the vollie department. I'm retired career and keeping my options...- maclean
