    I wouldn't ever buy a black car because of how hot it would get! Sure, I could fry eggs on the hood, but it would fry me too! Sure sounds like a disaster, too... what happened when it got totaled?

    Heh, I kind of pulled something like that when I turned in my explorer- the exhaust had broken (cheap fix) and since it was so damn loud, you couldn't hear the timing chains, which was the much much more expensive problem! I'd feel bad about it, if the car I'd traded it in for hadn't also died :/

    My mechanic friend (who's working on fixing up the van right now) told me to "take it and run" so I did! he was only gonna be able to give me $1700 on a trade-in for a 2006 Yukon XL Denali but I don't wanna deal with a car payment right after dad's lost his job so I'm just drivin' grandma's van :)

    I figured I should update this! Expy is gone, I sold the poor thing for $2500 on facebook, I guess that's an all right price... That sure ain't enough for a new car though, which would probably just last one year before dying again, so now I'm driving my grandma's 1988 conversion van...

    Is cylinder 1 the closest one to the front of the car on the passenger side? If so, then... yeah. We broke it. I've got it listed on facebook, and a mechanic that my grandma really trusts is seeing about a nice fancy 2006 Yukon XL Denali, so... well, if God decides to let it work out...

    So! Turns out a good bit of my power loss has to do with Cylinder 1 having 50psi of compression instead of 100psi. Anyone got a 2003 5.4L Triton V8 for about $600? I might as well never buy a car again, I overpaid on a 98 explorer that proceeded to have way-too-expensive-to-fix timing chain...

    Nope, it wasn't the sparkplug that mechanic #3 had to tie down cause #2 broke the clip! It was one of the rear ones...
