Recommendations for rear shocks & smooth ride

This was for my '12. All 4 collars were moved from the OEM shocks to the new 4600s. I bought/installed new OEM coils as well.

Recommendations for rear shocks & smooth ride

About two months ago, I installed Bilstein 4600s, new factory coils and a 2" front, 2" rear kit. It rides fantastic. I'd recommend the 4600s for sure!

    Help Identify! Broken Engine Part

That is a pretty big issue. The roller follower is actuated (pivoted up/down) by the camshaft. They are somewhat notorious, in these engines, for seizing up and failing. The one in your pic no doubt had the roller bearing seize and grinded the roller on the cam. You need to pull the covers...

    Camshaft and lifters

I just did a complete timing job on my '12 with new roller followers (aka rockers) and lash adjusters (aka lifters). Unless you are small, flexible and have extreme patience - there is no way I would try to replace these without removing the cams. It is a huge PITA. Especially the back...

Proper Cooling System Flush Procedure (2012 w/ Rear System)

Worked on this a bit this weekend. I had the engine torn down for a timing job anyway. Thought I'd report back w/ what I found. I pulled the radiator drain - only ~1.5 gallons drained out. That leaves quite a bit still in the system. When I pulled the lower radiator hose, it poured more...

    2017 Raptor Wheels

Sorry, by issue I meant sloppy sidewalls, rapid tire wear, etc. Best I can tell is C rated tires seem to be marginal for a 7800 gvwr vehicle. I currently have E rated Michelins. The 10 ply sidewalls seem stiff. Since I need tires and am lifting it, the Raptor takeoffs peaked my curiosity.

    2017 Raptor Wheels

Question for those who have installed Raptor wheels/tires. Have you all run the C rated BFGs w/o issue? How many miles are you getting out of them? I can grab a set of new 2020 takeoffs (wheels/tires) for $1k. Not sure if it's worth it or if I should stick w/ D or E rated tires. They'll be...

    RECALL

The leadframe is the plastic part. My '12 actually had the shift into first issue 4 times in the last month! Appt to fix it in two weeks. Scary as hell when it happened.

Proper Cooling System Flush Procedure (2012 w/ Rear System)

Thanks folks. That's exactly what I was looking for! I'll grab that "Y" replacement and a new thermostat/o-ring. Appreciate it.

Proper Cooling System Flush Procedure (2012 w/ Rear System)

I have a 2012 EL w/ the rear heat/cool. Aside from draining the radiator, refilling and calling it good - I'd like to do complete flush. Are you all aware of any writeups on this? Mainly, I'm unsure about the rear system and how it's integrated w/ the front. I've looked through the service...

    Bilstein 5100, 4600 & New Coils

Hey Black. Thx for that. I'll look into that part number further. My intention is to lift/level it up front w/ the 5100. I'm not sure which is a better idea really - 4600s all around or a mix - w/o using spacers up front. I need a bit of height out of this thing and need a WAY better ride...

    Bilstein 5100, 4600 & New Coils

Sweet. That link will definitely help out although I'm still trying to figure out which 5100s to use up front. I believe I read somewhere here that the 07-14 front ends are different than the laters? That link was for a '16. Either way, that thread will surely come in handy!

Installed Bilstein 5100s and 4600s on my 2016. What I learned that will save you time

What's the part number for those 5100s up front?

    Bilstein 5100, 4600 & New Coils

Hey everyone. I have a '12 Expedition EL (no air leveling). My struts are shot, springs are tired. I'd like to put new coils all around, 5100s up front and 4600s (no 5100s available, right?) on the rear. The 4600 rears are easy as Bilstein has a part number for those. Can somebody point me...
