I've got a very similar issue I've been trying to track down with the rear right wheel. So far I cant see any suspension parts that look worn enough to really cause the problem. I've never thought the body mounts could be the casue, but I do know that some/most of mine looked like they were...
End links weren't broken. They sure don't look brand new and I can spin/rotate them easily, but definitely not broken. Same for the sway bar bushings. Not new, but still there and I can't move the sway bar by hand or with a big pry bar.
08 Expedition EL with approx 116K miles. Bilstein 4600s (I think thats the number) were installed approximatley 15k miles ago. Something feels off with the suspension and I cant figure out what's wrong. Feels like the right rear wheel continues bouncing too many times after hitting a bump...
Not sure how my thread devolved into this sort of conversation and despite my better judgement I'll continue to respond.
I'm not acting like advice for the future is going to kill me. I started this thread specifically looking for future advice. I came to update with my results and your...
I get the intent, but I started this thread months ago looking for suggestions of brands to use or avoid. Little late to offer up input on that aspect of this conversation now that the job is done. I suppose when I exaggerated and said I used half a can of penetrating oil I opened myself up...
huh? You have a source for free parts or something?
Using the penetrating oil sure did do something...it allowed me to complete the job and I didnt have to wait overnight.
There would be absolutely no way to wrap the hub with a rag soaked in any sort of penetrating oil. The hub seizes in...
So I finally got around to dealing with this. Ordered up the front hub and went with the OE motorcraft piece. Got the car up in the air, and to my surprise I found some play in the rear left hub! Went and ordered up the motorcraft rear hub and got it installed yesterday. Was quite the PITA...
How are you measuring the temp? When I tried to monitor trans temps using the Torque app the coolant and the transmission always read exactly the same temperature. Once I started using Forscan Lite I was able to see the transmission fluid was not the same exact temperature as the coolant!
Not really an answer to your specific question, but I used something like this once on the wife's Maxima and was very happy with the results. I left the old broken mirror in place and applied this right on top. Worked really well. No distortion like I expected I might find, and you couldn't...
Maybe I'm misunderstanding the question. But the wiring for a brake controller is there under the dash already. Doesnt matter if you have the integrated brake controller that comes with the newer models or not. Looks like they were nice enough to add a relay into the newer ones so the...
Not much help now, but I recently had to change my fuel pump and broke one of the plastic lock tabs. Not the small ones on the fuel filter (which I found on the shelf at autozone in the help! stuff, and also found out that new filters come with these in the box) but I broke the larger ones that...
