    We ended up with an 18 XLT 4X4 with 1639lbs. 42k miles, certified preowned for $40.5k. Wanted a newer one but supply was so low and life timing demanded action. Seems general trend is newer equals more payload, 4x4, bench, 18 inch wheels, no sun roof if you are looking for max payload

    This the Dave Ramsey approach and good for those that don't do well with finances. If you are disciplined where and how you use debt, you can significantly reach improved outcomes. For those that need to correct bad credit behaviors, I'd agree with you.

    You're right, I found it in the Ford Manual. The confusion between the 150lb driver and/or fuel arises from the Towing Capacity (not the payload capacity). Thanks for keeping us straight. Payload does already account for full of fluids, but not people or things in/on the cargo.
