My 2018 Max with HD Tow is clocking in at 18.1 over the last 44,000 miles. This is hand calculated and not the onboard computer which is about .9 mpg optimistic. I use 93 octane 95 percent of the time, and this is a mix of city/hwy driving with my work commute being about 20 miles of mostly hwy.
I get out in the soft sand all the time and I hate how the 22's load up. My wheels are all out of balance until I can get to a water hose and wash all the sand out.
I wondered about all the points discussed so far as I had a second row bench in the previous SUV. We got the captains chairs and love it. I have two teens that really enjoy their space. The friends that come along like the easy access to the back. The two dogs do just great and have easy...
I got 544.8 on 27.193 gallons for a 20.03 mpg average last September. This was exactly 1.07 mpg less than the vehicle showed for that tank which is consistent with the optimism it shows.
I usually don't let the tank get that empty.
I have been considering this as well. I had one on my old 3/4 ton Suburban. It was very useful for:
Cargo carriers as you mention
Standing on cargo carrier to do engine work
Backing trailers into very tight spots
Attaching a hitch-mounted winch. I could mount the winch on either front or...
I'm at 16.9 mpg hand calculated over the last 29 fuelings. This includes some modest towing and off roading. My hand calculated number is almost exactly 1 mpg less than what the vehicle computer shows. My best mpg has been 20.0 mpg on one tank and the worst was 12.9 mpg when I towed my...
LOL. And I have already driven about 20 miles on this fillup. I never use eco mode but this is a Max so bigger fuel cell and I last did a few highway miles so I am sure it is using that mpg in the calculation. It usually does show over 500 though when I fill up.
I guess I didn't notice this before but I seem to have an inordinate amount of idle hours as a percent of the total. I'm the second owner but it looks like almost 22% of my engine hours are at idle. Previous owner must have sat around a lot. Also looks like lifetime average mph is 30.4.
What...
Did my first oil change. It was relatively simple and if you are considering it, I wouldn't hesitate.
I have the plastic oil pan and plastic drain plug. While I saw reports of it being messy, I didn't have a problem with spillage at all. Rather than just pulling the plug all the way out, I...
