When you say power...you mean electrical power or engine power?
If you're saying engine power, I agree with docraymund. Could be a throttle position sensor has a bad spot on it or a lose connection or a short in the wiring.
Okay, so my 98 4.6L RWD is giving me a problem. The temp gage stays pretty low for a long time, then it will get up to "normal" quickly...then suddenly jump to the top of the range. Temp light comes on too. Then, with continued driving (or even turning the engine off briefly...just a few...
Okay. Great! Best of luck! I replaced both front sensors and put the fuse back. All looks good so far too. BTW...they made a change to the design of the sensors from 98. There was a thin metal flange for the mounting bolt. The replacement parts have a plastic flange with a metal insert...
Wondering if there's been any resolution to the problem. I'm experiencing the same thing on my 98. I pulled the fuse a few weeks ago to shut down the system. But, I'd like to fix it if I can. I'm going to do a brake job this weekend. It'd be a convenient time to change any bad sensors or...

In any case, that seems to have fixed the problem. I've been driving it now for about two...
Thanks guys.
I think the caliper on the driver's side is sticking. When I parked the truck at work the other day, I could hear the caliper making a creaking sound after I exited the vehicle. I think it is releasing, but very slowly. So, when I brake and then immediately brake again, I...
Hey guys, I bought a 1998 Expedition from my father a few summers ago. He had it since it was new and it's been well cared for. About 10 years ago, I put a paint job on my 1992 Mustang. Since then, I've been driving "beaters" as everyday cars. The Expedition is far from a beater. I love the...
I've owned several Fords. Some were not so hot (90 Cougar), most were great (Mustang & Expedition). Good luck with it! Welcome to the Ford Family of Fine Cars.
Hi, guys. This is my first post. I'm a Mustang guy, but my old Expedition is my daily driver (actually the Expedition is newer than my Mustang...hahaha). I've never owned a truck before and I love it. I didn't know what I was missing. I hope to make a meaningful contribution here. I plan...
