Unfortunately one of the plastic male fittings on the T connector at the tank broke. You can see it in the picture with the green background and the quarter. I need to find that T connector at the back of the tank and replace it if possible.
Well, I found out why my 2003 EB 4.6 smells like gas. Looks like an evap line going from the tank to the charcoal canister. The smaller of the two lines, coming from a T connector going into the top of the tank passenger side rear. Plastic piece broke and someone before me tried to "fix" it...
Thanks. I guess the gas smell might be from my vent valve not closing maybe. I'll replace that and see if that gets fixed. Otherwise I'll probably have to get a smoke machine (or build one) and smoke test the EVAP / Fuel system.
I found this diagram on Mitchell1 DIY.
It's the hose that the arrow is pointing at. The problem is that the end I care about, the one that is zip tied up, is the one that is going off the screen to the right. So, it does go to the vent valve, via the vapor separator (the small box with the...
On my 2003 Eddie Bauer, ever since I purchased it two months ago, I've been noticing a gas smell after turning the engine off from the back of the vehicle. The smell is noticeable starting at the back door, strongest on drivers side. I got up under it today and saw this hose zip tied to the...
I ordered some through eBay, but they aren't supposed to get here until Wednesday. My father in law has a wrecked 2005 Crown Vic he plans on fixing up, but he let me borrow a bike from that until the ones I ordered come in. Worked fine.
I used the Gearwrench Bolt Biter set to get it out. Thanks for all of your advice.

Title says it all. Was trying to change my coil pack on cylinder 7 to fix an intermittent misfire and the bolt rounded off. I was using a 6 point 7mm short 1/4 in drive socket on a universal adapter. I'm wondering what bolt extractors anyone here may have successfully used in a similar...
I went ahead and bought a new radiator from O'Reilly's. I verified that the keeper will work with these fittings. Now I'm just going to have to swap it this radiator again.
If I can replace the fitting with one that works with the keeper, I'll probably have to get another radiator local and replace it this weekend. Maybe O'Rielly's or Autozone. I'll take a good look at the fittings first though.
It is possible that I didn't connect it correctly the first time. But like I said, I've been driving it around for two plus weeks, probably 3 or more tanks of gas since then. But yeah, since this was the first time I had to deal with the ford quick connects on the transmission lines for the...
