The camera is a Rexing V1 I’ve had for a couple of years in one of my other vehicles. It’s an ok camera but I wouldn’t buy another one. I’d rather sped an extra hundred or two and get a solid wireless/Bluetooth type that allows for immediate off site data storage and playback like from your...
I had been experiencing some some issues with grinding on the drivers side wheel in the morning when it’s colder. After some quick research, I realized the 4wd system on my 2003 Expedition is vacuum controlled and mine was malfunctioning.
Essentially I was losing vacuum and the drivers side...
Happy to hear you got it all done without problems. What kind of fuel mileage were you getting before and what has it gone up to now after the change out? How is the power? Improved or same?
You say you replaced the egr feedback sensor, but did you replace it with OEM or just some parts store junk? Was the original sensor bad or was it the hoses that were cracked? We’re talking the same sensor right; the differential pressure sensor with two hoses?
Maybe you either busted an old vacuum line such as the PCV or possibly just left off a hose somewhere? The PCV lines are weak spots especially up near the throttle body.
It turns out that the manifold sits right behind this black wall of plastic that appears to be a sound barrier. So I just grabbed my pocket knife and cut out a section of it and replaced my sensor with a Napa one. No more false overheating and subsequent “limp mode” now.
Trying to replace the cylinder head temp sensor on my 2003 expedition 5.4L but I can’t really get access to the sensor because of this black plastic “wall” thing for lack of a better term. I don’t see it in a video I looked at where they swapped out the CHT sensor.
Is this removable? Or is...
So far – so good, no headaches yet. Will be on a 4-5 hour drive in a few days so we’ll see if the exhaust gets tiresome. I doubt it though for me; I like hearing the engine and the shifts probably in much the same way pilots might appreciate being able to hear their engines while flying ( have...
Just as a follow up, I had the Flowmaster 50 series Delta Flow installed on my 03 EB 5.4L — and I’m very happy with the sound. No performance change, but it definitely sounds good to me. Sounds like a truck should sound; not too loud or obnoxious at all.
Even though Flowmaster doesn’t list...
Interesting. The chart I had looked at showed the 50 Delta flow to be a little more aggressive than the Super 50.
Oh well, I already ordered the Delta Flow which was about $40 cheaper too. Hopefully there won’t be any issues with it.
I may take before and after video to compare sound levels.
I’m thinking of installing a FLowmaster 50 series Delta Flow muffler on my 03 EB 5.4L. I noticed that FM doesn’t list a 50 series Delta Flow for my year – but they do list the Super 50.
Anyone know if there would be an actual issue if I ran the Delta Flow 50 instead of the Super 50? Same...
My thoughts are the cat too. Had a Mazda Tribute lose power and acceleration. Had to trailer it home. I unbolted the cat and it ran like a champ.
I'm not a mechanic though so I probably shouldn't be trusted for advice.
Thanks for the TSB & part link!
The way it looks in my pics is just the way I found it. I didn't know there is supposed to be plastic cover. Would that be like a hinged cover or something (like a doggy door)? I'm just trying to envision what cover could have been there.
