    So the culprit was the fuel pump. Shop put in a new one, runs like a champ. Wife is very happy. Thank you for everyone's advice/help.

    Smacking the tank did not do anything. I think I am going to bite the bullet and take it to a shop to at least have them diagnose it. I'm thinking you are right and the fuel pump drive module or the pump its self is gone south.

    So I checked fuse 32 and 71 with ignition on. 12.5v. I checked for power at fuel shut off. 11.9v before cranking. 9.4v while cranking. Im the process of lifting vehicle so I can get under it to check voltage at fuel pump.

    I do hear the relay clicking when key is in the run position. But no hum of fuel pump. The check engine light is on all the time with P1288 code. I cannot erase the code either.     I will check voltage at fuel shut off and the fuel filter/pressure. I checked the fuses in the fuse block under the hood. I checked all the fuses with a multimeter and the relays i switched with ones that are working. I be leave their are 6 fuses/relay that deal with the fuel system?
