Heads up on this issue. This just happened to my 07. Instead of Line In, pushing the Aux button gets me 'RSC Aux' which stands for Rear Seat Control Aux input. I've read somewhere that the radio needs to be reprogrammed to it's original "factory" configuration.

Service Entrance Wire is only single wire with insulation (they have different colors, but I bought black). It's the kind of wiring you see inside your home's electrical service box. It's got like a clear outer coating protecting the black plastic insulation. You will need to get stranded...
If it was tuned for the restrictive cats, then you would get less backpressure from your exhaust, and therefore you can potentially lose power. Unless, of course you have something that will re-tune the ECU so that it knows that the exhaust is now "free"...
Just understand that by changing...
Keep pounding, then turn the thing upside down and go from the other ends until you get it all out. Once upon a time, I gutted many a cat (just not ever on an expy). The beginning is hard. It gets easier once you get some big chunks out.
That's exactly how I did it. That corner should pop right out. Once you get a corner out, you can stick whatever implement (finger, if it fits) in there and pry the rest of the clips off. The plastic does feel thin, but it is rather flexible. Good luck.

I'll 2nd this: "Just order HD trailer tow". But only if you get a good deal. Sometimes, a deal comes along that may not have every option that you want, but a good deal is hard to come by.
I paid $19,950 in 2007 for a 2007 XLT with 19,600 miles on it. It did not have the HD tow, but I...
Chevy,
Your statement is correct, the gray/blk wire from the picture contains wires that originate from the fuse box under the hood and ends just right there on the female connector. That's a fused 12V that goes on when the vehicle is put in Reverse.
Unfortunately, it does dead end there...
I have a backup camera and a Wolo backup horn tapped to my driver side reverse light wires (done before I thought about going to the 7pin hitch connector). That shouldn't be a problem since it is in use only when I go reverse (which is not too often) and those are low wattage devices, so I have...
One more thing for anyone wanting to do this, but didn't go through the entire thread. The non-HD tow Expies have the same fuse box under the hood. Putting a 30amp fuse and relay in place will get a fused/relay-controlled 12V to the hitch wiring harness connector up to the engine compartment...
chevy, that's some fancy machining. Nice bracket.
As for the wiring, the only wiring I had to cut was under the hood on the stock harness connector (from the fuse box side). That's only to route the 12V and the reverse to the back.
At the back of the vechicle: The 4 to 7/4 pin adapter...

or this:

This is assuming 2 1/4" tubing, they have one for 3" tubing as well.
