    Tail gate wont open.

You probably will NOT need to replace the entire cable as the end is what breaks off. You will likely only need this part: This was used for my 1998 Expy, but I suspect the 99 is the same...

    Tail gate wont open.

Yes, you can remove the tailgate plastic cover from the inside. You'll need to crawl back there from the inside. Once the cover is removed you can release the tailgate so that it goes up! I've repaired the broken cable and its not bad at all! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lyL4xWT7Xts

    Dashes in odometer

If I'm not mistaken, those dashes would normally be filled with letters indicating the general direction you are heading ....... E, SE, W, SW, etc. Something may be wrong with your compass now as well??? Or, you need to run it through the calibration mode if necessary. Your owner's manual...

gas tank vent valve won't come out

Unfortunately, that valve is not removable nor serviceable. Mine also had a very, very small hairline crack. I was able to thoroughly clean the part and then apply a J-B Weld product that was waterproof, petroleum, chemical and acid resistant. That was 3 years ago and it's still doing its job. I...

    A/C Problems

Trainmaster, >> Are you referring to the temperatures and pressures I had mentioned (tvlunn)?? Also, when I get a chance, I'm going to take a look at the reading of the sensor Dustin had mentioned in his post. I'm assuming I should be able to get a reading after it has sit overnight in my...

    A/C Problems

That's very interesting Dustin! I need to check into that myself. That may be my primary issue ............... and likely is! Is the wiring leading to the sensor you mentioned easily seen once the glove box door is opened or removed? One could likely determine the "error" in the existing...

    A/C Problems

I will share a little information with you for what it's worth: Based on what I've "heard" others say, this particular model Expy doesn't seem to have the best AC system. I say this because I have a 2008 Expy which I purchased NEW! Straight off the lot that very hot day in July 2008, I felt the...

TPMS Concern - Who Knows For Sure

I will be replacing all 4 TPMS sensors on my 2008 Ford Expedition in the next month or so. According to the RockAuto website, there are two listings for my vehicle: TPMS3 - 6F2Z-1A189-A TPMS4 - 7L1Z-1A189-A I'm sure there is a reason for RockAuto having two different listings, but I...

    TPMS Fault

Just a quick question for you folks since you are talking about the TPMS sensors for the Expedition. I have a 2008 Expedition that was purchased new and I have never had an issue with any of my sensors as of YET. The sensors are attached to a strap that goes around the inside of the rim. I'm...

new to me 08 question about rear air struts...

I'll share one thing with you that might be worth looking at. I had to replace the two air bags on the rear of my Expy about 2 years back as it was leaking down somewhat similar to what you have described. The bags, as they flex up and down during driving AND with age deterioration, will develop...

    2008 AC Charge Clarification

I do have a refrigerant charging manifold set, as well as a scale for weighing in the refrigerant. My issue was I became confused as to how much refrigerant to use when I saw that a couple of other individuals were "adding" the front and rear values listed to obtain the total amount. I honestly...

    2008 AC Charge Clarification

Thanks Motorcity Muscle! I was simply confused when a couple of other post I found by Googling stated you needed to ADD the two weights to get the correct refrigerant charge. It appears I did interpret the information correctly from the beginning and the correct charge is 2.06 lbs as you have...
