New to the site
I am new to the site, so I thought I would check in. Just bought a 2011 XLT. First Expedition, after having a Ram 1500 SLT and a 4 Door Wrangler. My family needed something bigger that could still tow our travel trailer. So far, we are very happy.- USMCEXP

So, turns out I needed to step away from it, get a good night sleep, and not over think it... I decided to tap into the fuse panel. I ended up using a fuse that was not in use. 2011 aftermarket amp install questions
Tried a few of those last night with no luck. I think I read somewhere that Ford uses only 5 volts for those. I might try to look at running a wire to the fuse panel?- USMCEXP

Not sure where this wire code list came from but on my 2011 XLT it is way off. The passenger side speaker signal wires are white/orange and white/purple and the driver side is white and white/brown. Still looking for a wire to tap into fro the remote turn on for the amp...- USMCEXP

What is behind this panel?
I got the wire color breakdown from another member, but they were way off. Ended up pulling the door panels off to figure out the speaker wires. Now I need to find something to tie the amp's remote turn on wire into...any ideas? I already purchased a line level converter without the built in...- USMCEXP

2011 aftermarket amp install questions
So I got everything wired up and everything "works",, but the remote turn on wire is not kicking on the amp. I tried the yellow/orange wire, but it doesn't turn on. I can get the amp to power on if I tie into the 12 volt constand, so I know everything is working. Does anybody know where I can...- USMCEXP

thanks for the help. I got a "better" quote to install just the remote turn on wire, and line level converter...$60, but still think I can tackle it myself, as long as there is nothing tricky to pulling the head unit and getting in there. Again thanks for the assistance. GySgt K- USMCEXP

What is behind this panel?
It looks like a sub encloure behind the panel. It is a black "case" that takes up the entire inside of the rear passenger side panel. It must have some fans in it, can hear them runnig when I turn on the blower. Thre is also some metal hoses runing behind thre that get pretty hot, so there must...- USMCEXP

Mine has the sync, no DVD, and no Sub. There is absolutly no room on the passenger side. A little room in the driverside. I took a closer look at it last night...yeah, it is the heater stuff behind there on the passenger side. There are even some metal hoses that get very hot (so I am guessing thre is a heater core back there also. So now I am going to rethink my amp and subwoofer install ideas.
