Anyone out there have a Police Style Push Bumper on their Expedition? If so, could you post a picture of the frame mounting locations?

Just picked up a Push Bumper the other day that came off an '06 Expedition. I cannot seem to locate the mounting positions and assume I may need to fabricate some brackets to mount it correctly. Probably will have to place the brackets where the Tow Hook/Rings are.

Just looking for pictures on other set ups you fellow Expedition owners may have to give me a better idea of how it is supposed to be mounted.

Many Thanks,
David

Do you know what brand the one you bought is?

No, could not find any brand markings on the bumper. Need a good picture of underside where the bumper bolts to the frame to get an idea of what the bracket should look like.

Nice large pictures though Nathan. Good detail.

Here is a photo of the bumper.

Apparently it came off a Sheriff Expedition.

I have a WAAG push guard and it does mount to the tow hook bolts on the '03-'06 4x4 models. If you were to mount it on the 4x2 model you have to remove the front bumper (to gain access...) and position a pair of 1/2" bolts down through the holes in the frame up front since the 4x2's don't come with tow hooks. That push bar you have there looks like they probably removed the front bumper section and drilled holes in the frame tube sides and bolted it on that way, unless there is another bracket piece that's missing.

Yeah, apparently the seller pulled it off of his '06 Expedition before he sold it. I'm thinking that he forgot the lower brackets on the old expedition when he sold it. Luckily I have someone at work whipping up some brackets that should work. Just have a to mark the holes for drilling.

6K,

I am using mine mainly for looks. It could be used to push disabled vehicles as well. It also has a spot for a winch which may come in handy on the trails. It may come in handy in a fender bender I suppose, but I don't plan on testing it out haha.

Yeah I use my push bar as a place to mount some extra driving lights and kinda protect the bumper. There's nothing but plastic and styrofoam on the frontend until you get back to the frame rails. Great for anything else you hit but bad for your Expy. If your used push bar came off a 4x2 Expy I can pretty much guarantee you the previous owner didn't remove the mounting brackets again. It is a complete PITA to pull the front bumper assembly off to get to the mounting bolts. If you know the manufacturer of the push bar you can most likely contact them and they'll sell you new mounting brackets and hardware, that would be my route. Here's some Westin brackets : Westin Pushbar Mount Kit. Although, the pushbar you have there looks like a semi-custom build, usually done for police or government vehicles.

not true...there are 2 bolts 1/4 way up the wheel well on both sides...take off the cover on top of the radiator...remove the headlights and it should come right off...i took mine off to swap horizontal grill for vertical...there might be some screws underneath now that im running it through my head but it was easy....WAAAAAAYYYY far from being PITA to do.
