Check fuel pressure or cycle the ign key a few times for @3 sec between off & run then try to start.

Not from what I remember. A slow blink is the normal warning, fast blink is the anti theft at work.

Try checking for spark pull out 1 coil and boot and connect it to a spark tester. If you dont have one, just use another plug and place the plug on something metal and have an assistant crank the engine. If it sparks, you have ruled out the cam sensor and the ecu and the fuel injector cycling.
Then listen for the fuel pump running insert a short piece of stiff garden hose into the fuel fill inlet. Have someone turn the ignition switch to on position and listen for a short whirring sound. If you hear that then the pump is ok.
Then check for fuel at the schrader valve. Use a fuel pressure gauge if you have. If fuel pressure is present, then the fuel system can be ruled out.
Last check, assume the engine is flooded pull out the fuse for the fuel pump and start the engine while fully deppressing the accelerator pedal. If it wants to start after that put back the fuse and start it again normally.
If it still wont start, check the wiring of the MAF sensor. Because if the MAF sensor is disconnected, the engine wont run at all.

How is his engine going to flood sitting like he stated in the first post? Even if an injector leaked down, once the fuel pressure comes up it runs.
Two ways to go around the block on checking for spark - I like the starter fluid/bomb in a can method. Give a little shot and crank it. If it runs then spark is present. Or you can start taking things off checking for spark here and there. Once you see what these high energy coils are capable of, a smart person stays away from them. I have a bunch of respect for gm's HEI coils...
I'm over 50, somewhat lazy and don't look forward to busting knuckles anymore while fixing things. I follow the KISS idea....

Just holding w.o.t. while cranking should put the ecm in clear flood logic and it will not inject fuel. Disconnecting fuel pump is not necessary.

It should start and run with out the MAF sensor connected as well. The pcm is not looking for the maf signal until it has started and running and timed out of the start logic. I have started mine with it disconnected and it was a minute or two before the cel even came on.

Well this has been the longest update prob to ever take place but on Monday aug 29 i finally replaced the complete fuel pump assembly and external filter. When i did i drained the fuel tank completely. The truck started and ran. I listened to hear the sweet humm of the fuel pump before i started. Thanks to everyone for your feedback.
