HI everyone,

I am not new to this site just haven't been on I awhile. I've been looking for some performance upgrades. I wanted to know if anyone has upgraded their cam for a more loppy idle. something like the thumpr cams, or frpp cams. I tried searching the site and haven't seen any threads.

"Loppy idle" cams generally mean there is significant overlap for more power at higher rpms and this moves the powerband up. Power will be down in the lower rpms as well as significantly higher emissions. Always a trade off and not very good one in a heavy "work" truck unless it is off road or race only and you can keep it in the higher rpm powerband.

I have aftermarket cams in mine but they are relatively mild with zero lope. Moved the power band up slightly but blower makes up for any loss in low rpm torque.

Mod motors don't need the over lap n a cam to make more power. They actually lose power.

This. 5.4s don't like to rev. Even the 5.4 Cobra Rs took billet rods just to redline at 6500rpm
