The intake leak is part of his problem, but if you read all of his post, you'll see his problem goes deeper.

That's true, but how do you explain his codes jumping around. Unless his vacuum leak is moving, highly unlikely, he's got multiple problems. He's got lean, he's got rich. According to him, he's fixed a lot of the items. I agree he needs to smoke the intake, fix all leaks, intake, exaust if any, then proceed. His fix may be above his talents, and his SUV may have to be shipped off to shop!

My problem wasn't as severe but have you changed your caty converters? By now they could be an issue. Also the boots on the coils? Did that along with replacing the spark plugs (I see you did that) and problem went away.

I agree with changing the boots out. They can cause a lot of grief. Just like having a bad spark plug wire on earlier ignitions. Cats can be tested, their super expensive to replace all 4. If he disconnected computer, like he said he did, he may have to re flash it. He has replaced a lot of parts that could have been tested and cleaned like injectors, and cop coils. They can be tested with an ohm meter. A lot of our viewers like to change rather than test. My older brother was that way. His car failed smog, and rather than run codes, he started changing parts till check engine light shut off. He was lucky, he had to change only 2 parts to fix problem.

I had similar problems after a plug change. Couple bottles of fuel system cleaners straightened me right out. One was seafoam and the other was Regaine with gumout.

If our forum members had a professional fuel injection cleaning every 60k or so, a lot of drive ability issues would be diminished.
