running out of rebound travel

I have a 2013 XLT 4x4 that I've owned since new. One thing I had noticed was that the vehicle would easily run out of rebound travel while driving through intersections at city speeds. It was incredibly harsh. I'm not sure if Ford intentionally limited rebound to keep driveshaft angles low. Well eventually the seal on one of the shocks blew, probably from slamming into rebound. I installed some Bilstein B6 shocks. I noticed that the socks are about 2 inches longer at full rebound than the OEM shocks. As a result there are no more problems with running out of rebound travel. The ride is quite nice. Only downside is that at full droop the rear brake hoses are a bit tight from being stretched. I will probably change all of the rubber hoses for stainless braided hoses at some point.

Nah. I've been rotating the tires with each oil change since the vehicle was new. I am familiar with how many clicks I need on the jack stands to get the vehicle high enough to remove the wheels. After installing the bilsteins I had to raise the vehicle higher than I've ever had to in the past to get the wheels back on because of the additional rebound travel. Also the rear brake hose is now on a little bit of tension at full droop. I am considering replacing them with longer hoses.

That is very interesting. Too Bad Bilstein hasn't stepped up to offer shocks for the 2015-2017 trucks. Was surprised that there was enough change to the rear suspension that the shocks don't fit. From inquiry to Stage3 Motorsports:

Answer: The rear suspension and driveline of the 2015-2018 Expeditions actually changed quite a bit to handle the extra output from the 3.5L EcoBoost, which caused issues with shock fitment. Unfortunately, Bilstein does not currently have replacement shock options for the later Expedition Models.

P.S. maybe you can move the Brake-line bracket slightly to take the stress out of the line. Hate for it to 'pull apart' over a bad bump..

Thanks for the suggestion on the brakes. The 3.5L ecoboost is a nice powerplant. Every once in a while I toy with the idea of turbocharging my 2013.
